Just so you know the second post on everyones facebook feed is usually an ad. Right now all the “Work at home gurus” are flooding that spot. If they were any good they would have enough word of mouth clients they wouldn’t have to advertise.
Right now they have a captured audience and because the major brands pulled back their advertising budget facebook ads are much cheaper.
These gurus are using this time to build up their email list by giving away a pdf. I even saw one about coping with the virus while working with your kids in the room. I am sure now that you have read this you will start to notice it also.
For the foreseeable future you won’t be seeing Coca cola ads or any national brand while the Corona virus is fresh on everyones mind. I am sure once the World gets it back under control you will see them advertise again.
When Should You Advertise Again?
Right now as I am writing this the more important question is how are you connecting with your current customer base. Are you sending them emails? Are you sympathizing with them? Are you providing comfort and helping them? Are you making yourself available for their questions?
Advertising shouldn’t be your focus. I am sure people will disagree with that but the motto is that it is easier to sell to someone that “Know, Like and Trust you”. It is also easier to retain current customers. Those customers should be your raving fans and bring in more customers through word of mouth.
If you don’t believe in those theories than the time to advertise is now because you probably don’t have any customers yet.
